Prayer for Birth in Dewachen
EH MA HO

In front sits the marvelous Amitabha, Buddha of Infinite Light
On His right stands Chenrezig, Lord of Compassion
And on His left stands Vajrapani, Lord of Powerful Means
Surrounded by innumerable Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Limitless peace and happiness is Dewachen.
As (name of deceased) and all beings pass from this world
May we be born there without taking cyclic birth.
May we have the good fortune of meeting Amitabha face to face.

By the power and blessings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas
Of the three times and the ten directions
May we attain this aspiration without hindrance.

We prostrate to the Buddha Amitabha. We pray to Guru Rinpoche.
Beloved Root Teacher, hold us in your kind regard.
Gracious Teachers of the Pure Lineage, guide us on the path.
May we know that we dream while dreaming.
May we know that we die while dying.

Bless us to master the profound path of powa.
By the swift path of powa, may we journey to the Pure Land.
Bless us to be born in Dewachen.

According to Your wisdom, may we quickly pass from this life
Avoid the bardo, and immediately attain to Dewachen
Where we can rest in natural perfection
With no more birth, disease, decay, or death
Receive the best and purest Teachings from the best and purest Teachers
Attain complete enlightenment for the sake of all beings
And return to dredge samsara to its depths.

The excellent and precious mind of enlightenment
Where it is yet unborn, may it newly arise;
Where it is born, may it never decline
But boundlessly increase forever more.
