Why teaching hope?

So what do you think, Ven. Huifeng? Is there a hope that is free of expectation?

Maybe it helps, when we thing about its qualities, its origin and its effects.
So where does it origin, what is its cause?
What is its quality when it arises?
What is its effect?
Just that! :-)
