The three poisons never go out of style, unfortunately. It's much easier for people to blame others for their problems than it is for them to take a hard look at themselves and correct their negativities. We should pray for people who are so angry and ignorant.

Often poverty and lack of education lead to the formation of such extremist groups. This is why being a teacher is a very special job. Teachers can often have a very positive influence on their students, especially when the students have a very negative family life.

May we each generate great compassion for all beings and bring great benefit to them.

Eric Hoffer, who wrote "The True Believer" touched on how and why people get sucked into such groups. His thought was that the growth of such movements was attributable, in part, to a breakdown in middle class affluence.

Chaz that's really interesting to me. Can you give me a cliff-notes version of why that is?

Sorry to be lazy and not read it for myself, but I'm wondering if there's a brief explanation.

Best,
Laura

The feds run these online extreme groups as stings. Only morons get caught up in this type of entrapment.

Really? Maybe I'm not paranoid after all :spy:

But seriously I'm not surprised in the least by that. Thanks Heruka.

is this a class war struggle argument? Is race baiting also part of the agenda? does demonization of groups help the image of the nanny state as saviour lead to dependency and not independence?

Its a very interesting topic.

Oh yeah forsure, cointellpro has been around for years, Hal Turner was a FBI asset inserted into extermist groups, urging on others with talk of murdering fedrel judges and so forth, the hutree milita just recently also encouraged by the feds to go extreme. But that faded from the news within days. on public record feds funded and set up muslim extremist groups.

After what's been happening especially in the last 10 years nothing surprises me anymore. I think that the KKK does still exist though.

what I find amazing is when hate groups like this call themselves Christian. I'm certain that Christ wouldn't approve of such behavior.
