New and Inquiring

Post by BabyBuddhist »

Hello all

I am new to Buddhism and have been reading everything I can but am wondering what would be the best way to find a teacher/mentor?

It does not have to be face-to-face, I just do not know where to begin.

I appreciate all responses and hope everyone is well.

Regards,
Rosemary

Hi Rosemary :)

Welcome to the forum. I hope you will soon find an excellent Dharma teacher and that you'll find just what you need in the Buddha's teachings. If you're comfortable telling us in what general area you live, maybe one or more of us will know of qualified teachers within a reasonable distance from you. Also, do you have any idea yet which Buddhist tradition might resonate best with you?

Good Evening Brian

Thank you so much for your reply. I've been enjoying the forum this evening. I appreciate everyone who posts. It really helps someone such as myself greatly.

I live in West New York, NJ which is the general area of Northern New Jersey. I am close to New York as well.

I have been very drawn to Ch'an (Zen) Buddhism but I am very open to the study, understanding and practice to all of it.

I am open to experience all that I can learn.

Thank you again for your help and response.

Regards,
Rosemary
