The jury is out.
The jury is out for whom? I reiterate that no major lineage holder believes in the legitimacy of Aro or their false Termas. Aro represents nothing short of the propagation of false Dharma. It sure can be quite slippery for anyone to say they've acquired a "mind terma". There has been no authentication of Aro's Termas.

Yes indeed. Sarcasm won't bring you far here.
Tibetans had a census. We know the names and dates of every village ngakpa.
Sure no, but this statement clearly shows you are not very well-acquainted with the Terma tradition. Termas are a big thing in the Nyingma lineage (and in other tibetan traditions of course). Generally masters try to collect every "new" lineage because these are said to be more potent. If such a lineage by a woman tertön had existed, you could be sure "big names" of the Nyingma lineage would have searched the issue. Upon being asked about Aro Lingma, Khyentse Rinpoche said she never existed.
On top of that, every text was preserved, nothing was lost during the peaceful
liberation. ;)
You're shooting in your own foot here : so from where does Chogyam got his texts related to Aro Lingma?
”Family lineages are not unusual.”
This is out of subject. And no, Aros are not ngakpa, their lineage is fake and their samaya is broken.
I say this only to raise doubt in the face of detractor's certainty.
Having read nearly everything that Aro put on their multiple websites plus a gazillions of their "transcripts", booklets, etc., I can tell you the detractor is more than certain about his view on Aro.
Let people have their opinion.
Sure but why let other believe that Aro is a genuine lineage when it's not? Aro has even less legitimity than the NKT, which is enough telling in itself!
But who can say for sure? Everybody
is entitled to their own opinion,
Sure, so please respect those who know that Aro is entirely fake. Why believe in a lineage which is itself based on a lie?

mutsuk wrote:I perfectly know what termas are. You did not understand what I wrote. I said that they can't show any text in tibetan belonging to the termas of Aro Lingma. Their lineage is supposedly based on these Termas. Since Aro Lingma is presented as being Tibetan, we can expect that her termas are in Tibetan. However they don't exist because she never existed.
this is my understanding also. this is an old story, perhaps if mutsuk can repeat for new vajra brothers and sisters the how, what, when and why, it would be very good, as my memory of such things is fading.

oh, let me post a real Terton couple:

Orgyen Jigme Namkha Lingpa and Tara Lhamo
Tara Lhamo is the daughter of Great Terton Aphan. (people say that HH Sakya Trichin is a incarnation of Terton Aphan.)
Many great masters recognised them as real Tertons.

The master in the middle of first photo is famous Khen. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche.
