Zen Master Seung Sahn said, “That’s simple. Atomic bombs come from the mind that likes this and doesn’t like that.”
"Even if you practice only for an hour a day with faith and inspiration, good qualities will steadily increase. Regular practice makes it easy to transform your mind. From seeing only relative truth, you will eventually reach a profound certainty in the meaning of absolute truth."

Re: Hello from the 1st kurdish - iraqi Buddhist
Welcome to Dharma Wheel!
Are you sure you're the 1st? You might be, but once several years ago I introduced my wife as "probably the first Ethiopian-born Buddhist" and I was soon corrected by other members of the community who said they met several other Ethiopians who were Buddhist. (Ethiopia is predominantly Muslim and Christian and currently the government doesn't allow other religions to start any houses of worship there.) They mentioned some Zen centers in Washington DC, New York City and how they met some taxi drivers and others who were from Ethiopia and became Buddhists.
Either way though, the 1st or the 1,000th, welcome to Dharma Wheel!

Hope you're alright.
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.

"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."
