Hey

Post by ShadedLotus »

I'm ShadedLotus (aka Tim). I'm an 18 year old Nichiren Buddhist. I have only been practicing for about three months, so I may not be able to contribute a lot. I am sure, however, that I will be able to gain a lot from the experience of the other members here. :)

Welcome, Tim! :hi:

That's great that you are a Nichiren Buddhist. I'm not sure if we have any here yet, but I know that our member Thornbush has been starting topics about many different schools of Buddhism (she's like our forum's gardener planting seeds all over the place). Please feel free to start some threads about your tradition. I'm largely ignorant of the more "devotional" forms of Buddhism like Nichiren and Pure Land, so I'm sure I'll learn something from you.

Right now, Dharmawheel seems to be mostly Vajrayana with a splash of Zen, but I hope that we eventually get members from all the Mahayana traditions here.

Thanks for all the welcomes, :)

@Luke,

That sounds really cool. As I said, I'm still a pretty new practitioner, but hopefully I will be able to adequately explain my practice.

Although I too am within Amida's grasp,
Passions obstruct my eyes and I cannot see him;
Nevertheless, great compassion is untiring and
illumines me always.
