Hello dear friends. My name is Stand Bright (English translation for my Chinese name). I recently signed up for Dhamma Wheel (http://www.dhammawheel.com/index.php) and found this forum through there. I suppose I could call myself "Just Buddhist" instead of following a particular school of thought. There is much to be gained from every school of Buddhism.

I have been practicing Buddhism for about a year. I am part of a local Sangha that practices in the Zen tradition and I study the sutras independently. I live in the United States so local opportunities are limited - hence joining online groups.

A very warm welcome to you, StandBright!

It can be isolating when you are mainly practicing and studying alone. I am in the same situation but we are luckly to have some engagement with a Sangha (I attend a weekly meditation group too).

It's great to have you here.

Hi StandBright,

I hope you find a group to practice with here in the US. There are not many of us, but depending on where you are, you can find people who are actively seeking the Buddha's Way.
