-Anything by guru Padmasambhava (such as selections that were already published like Dakini teachings, Advice of the Lotus Born, and parts published in the Life and the teachings of Pema Lingpa, etc.)
-A hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa
-Life of Milarepa
-37 seven practices of Boddhisattva by Thogme Zangpo
-Ngedon Gyamtso by 9th Karmapa
-Dhammapadam
-Anything by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye.
-Questions by Nyimo Gomchen (marvelously replied by Sakya Pandita).
Of course it is important to study sutras too, but I feel that later masters such as Padmasambhava and Milarepa speak more directly to my needs, their language is less formal and repetitive than high style in which sutras were written. I do read some shorter sutras both translated form Pali and from other canons of sanskrit origin from time to time, unfortunately I seldom remeber anything, but words of Guru Padmasambhava are much easier for me to remember. The most important sutra for me personaly is Kalamasutta.
