possible buddhist- Long Island Ny

Postby Darkrein » Sat Oct 19, 2013 9:33 pm

Hey, my name is Rein (or Evan if you prefer) and I have been developing a strong passion for the message of Buddhism. The idea that my suffering can be dealt with, even slightly, is a message that really resonates with me. So yeah, it's nice to meet you and i hope to have some interesting conversations with you guys.

Welcome!

I came to Buddhism from a similar place.
It saved my life.
Or rather, I didn't know I had any options other than depression and suicide until I read "Mindfulness in Plain English" by Henepola Gunaratana.
That was several years ago.
I never knew life could be so interesting, or that I was capable of love and patience.

I hope you find similar relief from your suffering.
Dharma Wheel is so supportive and has been instrumental in my "rehabilitation" :)
See you around!
Amitabha, Amitabha, Amitabha!
The moment when myriad thoughts are flying around in confusion is precisely the time to do the work. The more you gather your mind in, the more it scatters. The more it scatters, the more you gather it in. After a long time the work becomes pure and ripe, and false thoughts naturally do not arise. -- The Pure Land Teachings of Master Chu-Hung
