Kalachakra in Dzogchen Community

Postby DGA » Tue Oct 08, 2013 9:50 pm

Coming up at the end of December and the start of January, there will be a retreat in Tenerife: "teaching and practice of Anu Ati Kalachakra according mainly to the Terma teaching of Rigzin Jangchub Dorje."

Is this teaching likely to be made available by webcast?

I've not heard of this practice before; has ChNN taught it in the past?

many thanks

It has not been taught often. I believe once, in 2004. But I am not sure if that was Changchub Dorje's Kalachakra terma, or Chogyal Namkhai Norbu's Kalachakra terma.

This is for upcoming retreat:
The present retreat is based on two treasure or terma teachings: one that belongs to the Anuyoga and that was revealed by Rigdzin Changchub Dorje, and the other belonging to the Atiyoga and revealed by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu as part of his cycle of mind-treasures known as Longsel. This makes it into an extremely special teaching, which so far cannot be received from other Masters.

More info here: http://www.dzamlinggar.net/schedule/upc ... kalachakra

Most retreats tend to be webcasted, whether open or closed. So hope the same for this one too.

I noticed at the link you gave in the title for the teachings it says:

If it helps:

Email communication with Blue Gakyil confirms that it is indeed a closed webcast.

So, that is official.

If the thought of demons
Never rises in your mind,
You need not fear the demon hosts around you.
It is most important to tame your mind within....

In so far as the Ultimate, or the true nature of being is concerned,
there are neither buddhas or demons.
He who frees himself from fear and hope, evil and virtue,
will realize the insubstantial and groundless nature of confusion.
Samsara will then appear as the mahamudra itself….

Its the same as your password for the replays.

It says, How to subscribe to restricted webcast
write to: webcast@shangshunginstitute.org, providing your name, surname, country, membership number, gar of reference, email.

but you'll probably get faster results if you email your gar directly.

I'm bumping this because this webcast is coming up, and I'm having a difficult time finding concrete information about when each day's teaching will be coming on (need to get this dialed in as I'm traveling). Any ideas on what's going on here?

thanks

I'm going to guess that the Dzogchen version of Kalachakra isn't anywhere near as demanding (lengthy, regular) a practice as the one the Dalai Lama gives.

If it makes you feel any better, I have user/pass credentials and I'm not going to even watch it. Probably doesn't make you feel any better.

I've recently joined the Dzogchen Community, in part because I want to participate in the upcoming Kalacakra retreat, but I haven't yet received a webcast password.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I could get one issued quickly?

Try contacting your local gar, as well as the webcast team.

I just renewed my membership on 12-24 online via TGar East, anyone know if its not processed in time if will be auto cut off on Jan1 ?

------

This seems interesting, is it a new Ati Terma from CNNr's Dream work?

I remember hearing about Dolpopa used to use Dream Yoga to go to Shambhala and practice and receive Kalachakra Terma (about 700 or 800 years ago) ! But that wasnt ATI Kalachakra proper as i recall. I hope it is simpler, the Gelugpa one is lenghty ! Kalachakra is very interesting in how it relates Society and Sacred Body, Time, Prophecy, etc. and seems to tie into Ati where those things are 'relative'...connects the Profound with the Kitchen sink stuff, handy in the West...

Success! Contacting the webcast team directly did the trick. Seems obvious in retrospect, but most good tips do, I suppose.
