And maybe the reality would be just as much a source of disillusionment and disappointment as the election of the first black President has proved.

My (undisclosed) sources say that Obama will become a Buddhist a little after bombing the sh*t out of Syria. Apparently (like Ashoka) he will feel great remorse for his actions (but that won't stop him using their resources) and will build a series of free wi-fi transmitter towers across the globe to spread the word of how much Buddha loves us all. And, might I add, my sources are reputable! :rolleye:

If there ever were a Buddhist president, Greg's scenario sounds like a plausible future lol.

You guys are reminding me of something I read years ago:
"No matter who you vote for, a politician gets elected."

It's a shame, isn't it?

Does former president count?

Bill Clinton:

But of course that is much different from engaging in Buddhist practices before the elections.

14 Executives Who Swear By Meditation
[from Businessinsider.com]

CEOs have stressful jobs, and some have taken to intense hobbies to find solace from the daily grind.

Some practice meditation—or even Transcendental Meditation, a mantra-based technique derived about 50 years ago from ancient Indian practices.

We've compiled a list of leaders who say that meditating gives them an edge in the competitive business world. Some have even built it into their company's culture.

I suspect the US will cease to exist as a political entity without ever having had a Buddhist president.
