Light of Amida

Post by Hickersonia »

Light of Amida

The Blessed One, Amida, the pure bright light;
dedicating unlimited merit
for every being.

The vast storehouse, the result of pure vows,
Immeasurable, incalculable,
and compassionate.

Four Truths, Eightfold Path, every Perfection,
and the noblest of aspirations.
A Master Teacher.

Shakyamuni taught us of this Buddha,
his Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss,
and said to practice.

Constant recollection of the Buddha’s
characteristics and perfections will
ensure mindfulness.

The Mind, unfettered, will attain release.
May I always be mindful, and shine bright;
a light to others.

throwing it at someone else; you are the one getting burned."
