Amoghavajra

Postby WuMing » Fri Apr 26, 2013 10:03 pm

I am very much interested in Amoghavajra. Does anybody have this thesis:
Orlando, Raffaello: A Study of the Chinese Documents Concerning the Life of the Tantric Buddhist Patriarch Amoghavajra Princeton, 1981
今以佛眼觀之佛與眾生同住解脫之床。無此無彼無二平等。
Now, observing with the eye of the Buddha, both the Buddha and ordinary beings are in the same liberated state. There is neither this nor that: there is only non-duality and identity.

Our life is very simple, very direct, very beautiful, very vast and very terrifying, but it is not at all convenient.

I was able to track it down at the library today. Looks interesting...
DGA's PhD dissertation, a history of "mindfulness," is available here:

You might also be interested in the works of Charles Orzech, whho has written extensively about Amoghavajra.
