My name's Rob. I've met some of you over at Dhamma Wheel and elsewhere. I'm a 42-year-old East Coaster, currently living about midway between DC and Baltimore. My wife and I have two small kids and we're both pretty busy. Although I've had a lifelong affinity for Buddhism, it was only a couple years ago that this deepened into serious exploration. My launching pad has been Zen, and that's probably where I'll continue over the long term, but I also feel the Pali Canon is at the core of Buddhism and I find it meaningful to study it regularly. Because I'm interested in Chinese culture, I'm also looking into Pure Land and particularly the Pure Land/Chan mix which seems to be prevalent in the Chinese-speaking world.
Anyway, good to meet everyone (including those of you I've met before!) and look forward to some fruitful discussions.
