Please pray for my dad.

Post by Arnoud »

Please pray for my dad as he is dying in the hospital in Gorinchem, Netherlands as I type this.
He is suffering quite a bit and can use the help in the bardo.

Many thanks,

I just performed a Medicine Buddha sadhana for your father.

May your father be free of suffering and may the bodhisattvas help him in the bardo and lead him towards a good rebirth.

Clarence,

I too just said some prayers and Mani's for your father, wishing him as much peace and clarity as possible, and as little attachment to this life and suffering as possible, and that he may be immediately reborn in a precious human rebirth and be inseparable from the Dharma by the power of the blessings of the Three Jewels.

The cool thing is that all these mantras people have posted in this thread in connection with your father are revolving night and day on Dharmawheel's server's hard disk, just like a prayer wheel.

Warmest wishes to your father and all of you who love him.

Thank you all for your help. He is still breathing though heavily sedated and without other supports. I hope he will pass soon. Great lesson in impermanence.
Thanks again.

Hi Clarence,

I will say more prayers for your father.

There is something which my lama told me which I found quite extraordinary. He said that the power of love is not limited by space and time and that whenever we think of somebody with love, they benefit, no matter where they are (in the bardo, in another life, etc.). So whenever you think about your father with love, he benefits!

OM MANI PEME HUNG

The power of love is like the force of good. Your father is in my prayers.

If you'd like, I can refer a friend to connect with you about a Phowa for your father, he is very skilled and it's his main practice.

May your father have a happy rebirth and love all around him, may he reach awakening and liberation from heartache in this new part of his journey.

"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." –Arundhati Roy

Thanks guys. Somehow we are all very calm and relaxed about it all. Guess your prayers have helped.

Clarence - may your Dad quickly be reborn in the Pure Lands, attain perfect enlightenment and then save all beings from samsara.
