He was also one of the very few teachers who offered westerners the opportunity of initiation into the secret Mahamudra-Dzogchen tradition, which was highly unusual in those days. His fame and unconventional approach spread rapidly.
The film tells the story of this unique teacher during the initiation of his reincarnation in November 2008. An event that prominent Buddhist teachers and students from around the world witnessed for five days (including singer and movie star Cher). CherIt became evident how influential his life had been and how many lives he had touched, including that of his sons all teachers in their own right who give a candid account of their own path. The parents of the Yangsi, the 7 years old incarnation, share their view on accepting their sons future.
