It is an English translation of "The Zen Teachings Of Rinzai (the Lin-Chi-Lu). Please read the preface...it explains what it is and how it came about. It is in PDF format and will load on to your computer when you go to the site. Don't worry it"s NOT loading a virus or such to your site. At least it didn't on mine.
Shame on you Shakyamuni for setting the precedent of leaving home. Did you think it was not there-- in your wife's lovely face in your baby's laughter? Did you think you had to go elsewhere (simply) to find it? from - Judyth Collin The Layman's Lament From What Book, 1998, p. 52 Edited by Gary Gach
For anyone who wants to read it, here is some info on Zen Master Bankei....and Unborn! or the Way of the Unborn as I guess Bankei would want it to be called.
Read it slowly, carefully, and think about it as you read.

I really need to get a copy of it. Over time I've seen it very consistently recommended. I certainly don't doubt its quality given what I know of Uchiyama Roshi.

Here are two beautiful zen garden live webcams, from a small temple in Japan. Keep in mind the time difference. If the screen looks black, it is night time in Japan.
To get to the the webcams, if you don't read Japanese, go to the navigation box on the right of the screen, follow the 5th an 6th little green buttons up from the bottom. the text is followed by a 1 and a 2 those are the webcams. Camera 1 is stationary. camera 2 you can control from your own computer!!! . . .
Profile Picture: "The Foaming Monk" The Chinese characters are Fo (buddha) and Ming (bright). The image is of a student of Buddhism, who, imagining himself to be a monk, and not understanding the true meaning of the words takes the sound of the words literally. Likewise, People on web forums sometime seem to be foaming at the mouth. Original painting by P.Volker /used by permission.
Thanks for this, PVS. That camera number 2 is in a great spot and controlling it is even more engaging than I expected.
If people are so inclined, they can also click "English Menu" on the top of the navigation box.
