Thag 1.20. Ajita - I do not fear death; nor do I long for life. I’ll lay down this body, aware and mindful.

Sacha G, the precise whys wherefores, hows and wheres of Kamma cannot be discerned because there are countless, interconnected mitigating circumstances.

All you need to be concerned with, is your Mental Actions, your Verbal Actions and your Physical Actions, and what the 4 Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path and the Precepts guide you to think, say and do.

It all begins in your head, with what you tell yourself.

Simplify: 17 into 1 WILL go: Mindfulness!

Translation: Just to stir things up seemed a good reward in itself. ;)

I am sooooo happy - How on earth could I be otherwise?! :D

OK
So what I understand is that for the majority of you no explanatory theory of kamma is possible.
(Then I wonder why the cittamatras came up with one. :juggling: )
My theory is that kamma is stored in some invisible universal database.

The problem with karma is we cannot know in detail how it exactly work. The black box is upgradable for human beings, and can only be understood by Perfectly pure mind.

We can only know the result. This result varies from coarse to very subtle one. The coarse one we can easily prove, but the subtle one is beyond grasp.

Karma is considered relative truth. Ultimately, there is no karma.

If we can understand the ultimate point of view, the relative side becomes less important. Good to know, but not a hindrance if we don't know.
I am not here nor there.
I am not right nor wrong.
I do not exist neither non-exist.
I am not I nor non-I.
I am not in samsara nor nirvana.
To All Buddhas, I bow down for the teaching of emptiness. Thank You!

Hi Acinteyyo
In fact since Humans exist they know that objects fall and that the moon turn around the earth.
But it's only recenltly in history that the exact fomula has been given, that attraction is proportional to mass and the inverse of the square of the distance. And it's only since one century that we know that gravitation is due to defomation of space-time...
So, from the mere observation of what is the case, we have come to an explanation.
Could it be the case that the same occurs with kamma? :coffee:
