China Pilgrimage 2013

Dear Pilgrims,

Yes! Planning on making my way to Western China/Kham. Rough plan is currently to fly to Kunming, travel to Chengdu, Jiozhaiguo (for bamboo), and potentially Golmud, Derge/Dege, Chamdo, etc.

Please Pilgrims, share your advice on traveling within the PRC and the Buddhist temples, monasteries, etc. to be visited. Also, what is the current status of traveling in Kham. Any political maps (at least from the PRC point of view) with current and accurate boarders would be appreciated.
