quite interesting... I wonder what results they may have after recalibration

I just saw that on http://www.agi.it/in-primo-piano/notizi ... della-luce a minute before I read this post. Amazing stuff!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Any physicists here? Can anyone explain the implications of this discovery, if it is true?

Will this mean that time and space is absolute again?

The bartender said, "We don't serve faster-than-light neutrinos here."
A neutrino walked into a bar.

The most profound effect this would have on 99.9% of the population is that a few textbooks would have to be re-written. LOL

That may be true, but it is also pointless and stupid.

We can all take inspiration from the neutrino, passing through every obstacle like a needle through a sheet of foam. May we all break from our bondage on this wheel of samsara like neutrinos through the conditioned elements.

Maybe the neutrino was going jhana.

There's a Portuguese cosmologist, João Magueijo, working at the imperial college in London, that works on theories that have, at the begining of the universe, a speed of light faster than the current one. What happens is that the speed of light is still the upper limit, but that limit is higher in the begining of the Universe. IIRC, Einstein himself worked with such a theory.

By the way, great joke octathlon :D.
He turns his mind away from those phenomena, and having done so, inclines his mind to the property of deathlessness: 'This is peace, this is exquisite — the resolution of all fabrications; the relinquishment of all acquisitions; the ending of craving; dispassion; cessation; Unbinding.'
(Jhana Sutta - Thanissaro Bhikkhu translation)

Over-educated as I am, I thought the topic headline was talking about these:
http://nutria.com/site.php

I was confused...
"As I am, so are others;
as others are, so am I."
Having thus identified self and others,
harm no one nor have them harmed.

I don't see why there is such an uproar about this.....Superman is faster than a speeding bullet so why shouldn't Neutrinos be faster than light?

I thought my little joke about the neutrino doing jhana was worth a :toilet:
