Right! So we've established that Buddhists are human beings with all the faults that accompany human existence and that all religious groups utilise faith and devotion (albeit in slightly different manners and with slightly different intentions).

And the next great discovery is??? Image

hi greg ...................
all religious groups are working with a combination of things.
quite a bit of it is spellbinding. a Buddhist would recognize that.

you could say that a lot of language faith might be akin to a kind of programming energy.
but at the same time, you have energy. what is this energy?
I was looking at the energy thread in free for all, and hmmm..... a bit of concern.

that is what I meant by boxed in. there is so much on energy comprehensions from other perspectives,
it would slam you good, but a box in mind will notice nothing. why, because he hasn't stepped out of his box to look.

hi Mr. G ...................

the quote was a preparation for the opinion that was forthcoming.
it was coming from, and going to, those places in particular.

I also used another quote there. was that "your own quote" only and not to be quoted a second time?
if so, it would be good to have that as a warning for future uses.

and thank you. do you get the feeling I'm touching the small tip of an iceberg here?

and how would you feel about that? threatened.... or eager?
ask how you're feeling. & if it's a different feeling, why not share it. :)

yes, there are practices that take a long time to work on ......

greg asked "what is the next great discovery?"
if it was public it might not have much value.

it's good to get into the feelings of anger that result in a sudden exposure to religion.
to explore that anger ..... try and understand it .....

____________

ps .............

I would like to remove the offensive quote,
however the function of the forum prevents the post from being edited.

I'm theist when I feel the need to be.
(which is nearly 100% of the time) ... :)

that is the beauty of it.

it is expanded freedom.

______________

and what is theism?

well, it is the recognition of a celestial realm.

not unlike something spoken of by quite a number of sages.

and today, these are mostly unknown to dwellers inside boxes of their own making.

OK, I get it now robaire. You're one of those gnostic-Christian-All Oner's. That's fine.

Topic moved to "Personal Experience"

So who exactly is clouded over with rage? If you said overcome by boredom at the incoherenece of your statements, you would have been closer to the truth. I will now leave you to assume yourself in peace.

actually it's like a seed .....

I do love Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal's advice to pray to the gura for devotion:

Through all my lifetimes in the place of the pureland, may I become inseparable from the lama...

Through trust in Buddha, nature can reveal by wisdom energy. Since the devotion or the nature of faith is not different from the compassionate nature, selfless loving radiance cannot be expressed.

The illusion/idea to know a bit the English language is as the illusion/idea to be able to express what cannot be expressed.

Why bother to try to express anything ?

"Why bother to try to express anything"?

The idea that some correct "caught" expressions/phenomena will remain when i nail them with the right nail down in vast sky is my diligent practice since many life times.

Why bother? I don't know. Wisdoms' compassion knows, cares since all are not different from own being.

Understanding Muni is both a practice and an art form. Do not look for what is written. Look for the intention of the writer.

Hi Kittykat, hmm, that's easier said than done on internet forums, where trolls can seek attention paraphrasing the words of masters and experienced practitioners can quietly go unnoticed.

Whatever - may all beings have a very happy new year !

There's been alot of talk but what is Devotion? Lets be clear about it. The first component of devotion is love. Love is primarily giving — giving of yourself to your beloved through feelings, thoughts, and actions. So, devotion involves giving of yourself to the point of forgetting yourself, often you proceed with tears and a deep well of feeling. Devotion, is to love and consciously humble yourself before the divine.
