hes a luddite. i bet when writing was invented there were old farts who said " this new fangled technology is going to undermine consciousness and memory, corrupt knowledge transmission by removing the energetic component of teacher to student transmission!". and when printing was invented, the same types said " this new fangled technology is going to corrupt society by disseminating information that should only be available to the few who can really understand it, plus errors will creep in and heretical ideas will be spread!"

consciousness is busy doing its thing, and if that thing is now the internet, with its different ways of interacting and eventually brains jacked into a world-wide network, then lets enjoy the sci-fi show! panta rhei!

Alex Berzin's comments follow a logical stream. Missionary activity in Korea, Mongolia etc have diminished the dharma for many. As Christianity makes inroads into the educational system, people feel that this is the modern way and obedient to commercial forces they succumb and abandon their heritage. I guess you can call this the lure of the market place.
