Linguists Out Men Impersonating Women Online

In reading the scriptures, there are two kinds of mistakes:
One mistake is to cling to the literal text and miss the inner principles.
The second mistake is to recognize the principles but not apply them to your own mind, so that you waste time and just make them into causes of entanglement.

Hi, Jhana4,
I looked at the article and some of the comments and I have to say I wasn't very impressed :juggling:
It is much narrower than your topic suggests - it's all about Twitter, not other (longer) online writing, and (as one commenter said), "From the paper, in their data set 47.7% of tweets were from females, 32.8% were from males, and the rest was unspecified. Tossing out the unspecified ones, guessing "female" all the time would then give ~59% accuracy."
And it's all about marketing anyway, which to me is the the very lowest form of commercial activity.

I could probably guess correctly at the same rate.
