The Oracle

A fascinating documentary on the Nechung Oracle.

The astounding succes of scientific empiricism over the last 300 years has left us a reality that is, in many ways, much poorer than the magical universe it replaced. A whole menagerie of supernatural beings has become extinct from the ontological landscape.

For over fourhundred years the State Oracle of Tibet has been cloaked in secrecy, now the Dalai Lama has granted the filmmaker permission to portray this strange and mystical side of the old Tibetyan tradition that has been epxlored by the filmmaker as he plumbed the unconscious yearnings of the modern Western pilgrim, while at the same time trying to balance his own rationality with an openness to a distinctly other view of the universe

This nature of mind is spontaneously present.
That spontaneity I was told is the dakini aspect.
Recognizing this should help me
Not to be stuck with fear of being sued.

Thank you for this! I can't wait to watch it!
    How foolish you are,
grasping the letter of the text and ignoring its intention!
