According to my profile, the answer is 6...

I've seen some profiles with the correct answer, others without the question, etc. I'm just curious : what is it about ?
Please don't hesitate to correct my english if you feel to

I have a similar thing on my blog. To post you have to solve an arithmetic problem. I still get occasional spam, meaning there are some really good bots out there or some people are still doing spam personally.
In reading the scriptures, there are two kinds of mistakes:
One mistake is to cling to the literal text and miss the inner principles.
The second mistake is to recognize the principles but not apply them to your own mind, so that you waste time and just make them into causes of entanglement.

David, I think we should change the question!

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

No its not done that way at all, actually Chownah.
Members who are permanently banned have their accounts deleted. The vast majority of those who are banned are spammers followed by a certain previously-banned individual who has a habit of returning under a different guise and IP address.
Apart from spammers and element, the number of people permanently banned from DW is very small.

Greetings,

And if you're ever interested in the differential between the two, go to the bottom of the Main Index Page and hover the mouse over the name of the latest registered user and you will see their unique user number. Compare this number with the total number of members, also at the bottom of the Main Index Page.

Metta,
Retro. :)

Are banned users really deleted or merely flagged as deleted in the database (with the data retained)?

I'm just curious about how phpbb does this. I haven't look at the internals of it, but that is how I would do it. :ugeek:
