Happiness and its' causes Conference

Postby cooran » Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:29 pm

Hello all,

I'm off this morning to two days of the Happiness and its' Causes Conference - speakers from Uni's all over the world + practising therapists and The Dalai Lama, Alan Wallace and Matthieu Ricard.

Looking forward to this:

The title makes happiness sound like a social problem that people are working to erradicate :)
In reading the scriptures, there are two kinds of mistakes:
One mistake is to cling to the literal text and miss the inner principles.
The second mistake is to recognize the principles but not apply them to your own mind, so that you waste time and just make them into causes of entanglement.

You definitely have a lot of good conferences down there! I liked Ricard's books a lot and his talks are probably just as well :)
Let it come. Let it be. Let it go.

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

Hello all,

Dalai Lama Pizza joke back-fires on TV host (to watch - just wait until the very brief irritating Ad is over). This is an old, old joke:

Some things are too delicious not to share:
