1. เกรง graehng [is] afraid; inspired with awe; respectful of; fearful; filled with reverence
2. เกรงใจ graehng jai [is] reluctant to impose upon; deferent to; is considerate of (another's feelings); respectful of (another's privacy, space, etc.); fearful to approach
3. ความเกรงใจ khwaam graehng jai deference; thoughtfulness; consideration (of another)

Thoughtful
verb
be considerate
be too courteous
be afraid of offending
look up with great respect

a fine example is when a Thai person has no option to walk behind you and is forced to walk in front so bows down as if to not disturb your sight-line.

a vehicle driver who is acting without consideration for other road users is definately mai greangjai

Being respectful of all other beings' rights ...especially to life...is essential if we are hoping to attain Nibbana. Even acting considerately to ants and mosquitoes....and not willfully destroying plants and despoiling nature.

Sadhu! Truly, that there are communities where this can be practiced, is awe inspiring. :anjali:
