Let us assume that non-evil ego is in place.
We can sit, practice and evaluate the self/ego.
What a monster!

Now, through recognition, through allowing the monster arising, observation and dissipation . . . .
we become a stream entrant.
We build a raft, perhaps in company.
The rest of the spiritual path is the journey to the far shore, which though present all along, still needs grounding . . .
