Khandro Pema Dechen

I don't think I had ever heard of Khandro Pema Dechen before she was mentioned at the bottom of email I got from a listserve of Tulku Thondup's teachings.

I just realized that I have heard of her. There is an old story about that Trulkshik Rinpoche (not the monk), that his female companion told him she did (as I recall) 10,000 prostrations every day, and he (wrathful lama) said (something like) "Beggar woman, you lie!" then watched her one day and counted. Then, at the end of the day he threw down his mala and said "Beggar woman, you tell the truth!"

I've heard different variations, but that sounds like she. It's always nice to get a name for the yoginis who are usually nameless in these stories.
