Have you talked to Rev. Master Haryo Young, the head of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives? Or been to Shasta Abbey?
Shasta is a very unique Monastery, in that they are a celibate Soto Zen Order and are a bit different from some of the other Soto Zen orders in America.
Rev. Master Haryo would be a wonderful person to interview there if you have not already. So would be Rev. Master Meian, the Current abbess of the Monastery, or Rev. Master Daishin the abbot of Throssel Hole Buddhist Monastery, in England, (also Order of Buddhist contemplatives) if he happened to be in Shasta. But Rev. Master Haryo would be a particularly great person to talk to. He can be reached through the prior's office at Shasta Abbey, or if you google "whereisharyo" all one word, you will get redirected to his page. The OBC is founded by Jiyu-Kennett, so it would be good to have them in the Movie to finish up a well rounded documentary. If you have any questions, feel free to email me or call me. whichever works fine for me.
This is a great project. I look forward to seeing your results.
Smiles, and in Gassho,
Sara H
