Insomnia,Sedona method and Dhamma

Postby lyallben » Sun Mar 20, 2011 1:36 am

I have suffered from chronic insomnia- I remembered the Sedona Method and started using it again, after a break, and hey presto I could sleep again.
I just wonder if anyone else uses the Sedona Method?
Its a very simple release technique.

I think Iyllaben was simply saying that he was aware or had been taught part of the technique but had not read Krakow's book.
Insomnia is an incredibly common problem that has all sorts of associated problems.
Not least is the understandible desire to self medicate..which invariably makes things worse.
The Sedona technique is very effective for some. Others respond best to solutions that avoid cognitive activity of any kind, techniques derived from Hatha Yoga suit some people best.
Insomnia is a non dramatic and unglamorous problem...but one that causes a lot of suffering to a good many people.

Peter8,
Thanks for giving your opinion as to what lyallben's post actually means....I think I'll wait and let lyallben explain it as I think lyallben will be a better source of information about what lyallben posts....but maybe not since it seems that lyallben doesn't post much.....

lyallben knows about the Sedona Method, and posted about using it for insomnia.

monkey_brain suggested a book by Krakow, which is not about the Sedona Method but which addresses how to get good sleep generally, perhaps also addressing insomnia specifically.

Whereupon lyallben expressed interest in that book. lyallben did not express interest in a book on the Sedona Method.

chownah thought lyallben was expressing interest in a Sedona Method book, instead of the sleep book by Krakow unrelated to the Sedona Method.

PeterB tried to clarify this confusion, and added comments generally.

chownah expressed resistance to PeterB's clarification, and emphasized this resistance by citing lyallben's name multiple times as the preferred source of clarification.

daverupa offered the point that clarification isn't needed, that closely reading the series of posts resolves chownah's confusion.

We now return to our thread, already in progress...

I was interested in Krakow's book
I have read Hale Dwoskin's the Sedona Method. Another and different book.
I have also done the audio course on the sedona method.
