I did chant Cundi Bodhisattva mantra but not very often nor do I see many people do from my experience only of course. Maybe Cundi Bodhisattva doesn't have asa much affinity with saha world as other great bodhisattvas.
Peace in Chan
Bodhi, are you by any chance a disciple of Chung Tai Chan? Because your profile pic is a clue :p
The Chan nuns at our local Chung Tai branch recite the Cundi Mantra everyday, and they advise me to do so as well. It's very useful in pacifying/correcting obstacles.
You may not always experience the "magical" effects listed in the Cundi Mantra Sutra, but I still know it to be very effective.
yes I am, which affiliate are you attending? I usually attend Chung Tai for meditation classes only. I had been in several ceremony services and I don't believe we chant the cundi mantra, atleast to what I know. Since most of the chanting are done in Chinese, and I really do not understand chinese because I chant in vietnamese so therefore I am not sure.
I know they often have chanting ceremony on Sunday mainly to chant the Medicine Buddha sutra and mantra.
But I had been in a daily evening chanting by Shifu and I believe all she chant was the the Great Compassion Mantra, several different praises including the praise to the Sangharama, I'm pretty sure there is Heart Sutra, recitation of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the offering outside, refuge in triple jewels and then dedication. But there might be more that I might have not notice.
I think you are right, I have no doubt for the Cundi mantra.
Peace in Chan
