I was surprised to read in the Bodhicharyavatara that Bodhisattvas are supposed to show patience and not respond in anger even when our lama is disparaged. It is quite a difficult practice, though.

Why were you surprised to read that in the Bodhicharyavatara?

It was a long time I ago, and I had up until then a mistaken notion that it would be naturally my job to defend my lama's reputation from gossip and criticism, I suppose with self justified anger.

Have you heard the one about the Dalai Lama's love child with Leela from Futurama?




Well, if Mods are happy with the OP asking about an unsubstantiated rumour about a Lama........................an offensive slur about someone else's Guru. ToS ahem? I despise Trungpa, but what about the ToS? Ok if the guy is generally thought to be bad, but not permitted if it's, say HHDL?

Still, nobody reported it so apparently it's OK, so let rip with whatever you fancy

Your behaviour is your own business, as is mine. I make no comment about you, only the thread - please do the same. Hostility is your projection. I'm just fed up with trivial negative nonsense cluttering up what used to be a useful forum. Imagine, if you can, a newcomer here seeking insight into Buddhism and coming across your thread based on some rumour about magic.

and i made no comment about you,i was referring to previous hostile posts,so hostility is cetainly not my projection its there in black and white,i would'nt be so quick to jump to assumptions.., as for my origional question i dont see anything wrong with it.
