Does it begin by direct introduction of the Dzogchen concept & symbol by the teacher to student?....

no concept is transported in the DI ...

Hm. How could anyone know beforehand how long her or his practice is going to take before s/he gets realized?
If I could risk offering you a tiny piece of advice here: drop your expectations and estimates. And try to be gentle and very, very patient.

Well, spending more money on a Dzogchen book isn't really going to help you become "realized" if you're keen on grasping it intellectually.
