Postby mingxin » Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:02 am

Na Mô A Di Đà Phật
Na Mô Bổn Sư Thích Ca Mâu Ni Phật

I was hoping someone could help me identify something from our monastery. I know what is says, I just don't know what kind of script it is... Not quite Siddham, not quite Ranjana.

Image

So... who knows what this script is called?

Thanks to all, :anjali:

I know that one but I can't think of the name of it at the moment. But check here:

Profile Picture: "The Foaming Monk"
The Chinese characters are Fo (buddha) and Ming (bright). The image is of a student of Buddhism, who, imagining himself to be a monk, and not understanding the true meaning of the words takes the sound of the words literally. Likewise, People on web forums sometime seem to be foaming at the mouth.
