Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
Does anyone else here have ChNN's Mo divination book? The writing seems to be rather poor in describing how to use one's mala to cast a mo divination. Can anyone here give advice? Does anyone know if there's a private forum or email list for ChNN's students where I can ask this?

Yeah, unfortunately the directions seem a bit vague. Guess I'll have to wait till I have the opportunity to ask someone who knows. I'd really like to know how it's properly done.

Divination depends on your closeness to the deity.
Re: Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
why this thread located in Dzogchen forum?

Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche teaches Dzogchen and the topic is about a book written by him. I wasn't concerned about splitting hairs when posting this thread.

Re: Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
First of all, this Dzogchen forum is already under "Vajrayana Buddhism" forum. You just need to decide if this MO book belongs to which lineage of vajrayana buddhism (or Bon). I haven't heard there is MO teaching in any Dzogchen tantra or terma. I thought as a Dzogchen practitioner, one should give up all hopes and fears about future?
Don't get me wrong, I think MO is useful and I would be interested learning virous kinds of MO texts. I was just imaging some new comers might confuse the difference between Dzogchen teaching and a certain group called Dzogchen. It could be splitting hairs, but if a MO teaching is not Dzogchen teaching, it won't become Dzogchen teaching just because a Dzogchen master wrote it.
Anyway not a big deal, not too many people come to this site anyway
I haven't seen the book, although I think I know how people 'normally' using mala beads to MO, in Nyingma or Sakya tradition. Not sure if that would be useful for you.

Besides, there is no mention where the divination originates from. However, there is a section in the beginning of the book which is quite telling that it is more Dzogchen, than general Vajrayana or Bon.

Re: Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
In the beginning of this book "MO a tibetan divination method" there is a mantra, I dont recall Rinpoche giving transmission of this mantra.
Do I need the lung to engage in this practice?
I am wandering why Rinpoche doesnt give this.

Right now is not possible for me to order the booklet.
By any chance does anyone have a scan of it and would like to share it by PM?

rinpoche already gave the lung for this mantra several times

FWIW, the last two posts are responding to a post that was written three years ago.

Re: Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's Mo Divination
it happens
in re: the mo discussion, for anyone interested, the is also a booklet on mala divination available that does not require a specific mantra (although you need DI, of course, and the practice of Guru Rinpiche or Tara).
