Please pray for Khenpo Kalsang Gyaltsen (Sakya, Tsechen Kunchab Ling, Sakya Phuntsok Ling) if you have a connection with him. He underwent emergency brain surgery yesterday and is in a DC hospital now.

Dear Students and Friends of Venerable Khenpo Kalsang Gyaltsen,

Yesterday, Khenpo Kalsang underwent emergency surgery for a sudden rupture of a blood vessel in his brain. Through the blessings and personal prayers of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche, His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche and many other senior lamas, the surgery was successful, and Khenpo Kalsang and is now resting in an hospital in Washington DC, with the very best medical care.

Tsechen Kunchab Ling, as well as many monasteries in India and Nepal are all doing special pujas for Khenpo Kalsang's long life.

In appreciation for the many wonderful teachings and great kindness that Khenpo Kalsang has shown to each of us, all of his students and friends are encouraged to perform Medicine Buddha and long life prayers at this time to prolong his precious life.

Sakya Phuntsok Ling will host special prayers for Khenpo Kalsang on Sunday, July 22 at 10:30 am at the temple located at 608 Ray Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland. All are encouraged to join in these prayers, or to join in spirit by performing prayers from home.
