The Thean Hou Temple, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

(Surprisingly, being a Taoist and a landmark tourist temple, Theravada/Mahayana Buddhist activities are more rampant than any other activity)

My Buddhist Altar (subject to monthly change and festive commemorations): Part 1
It basically faces east-west (a wooden half moon table back to back with a open book shelf cabinet)
The sample 2 pics are what it looks like during a commemoration period.

Re: The Sacred Space
agreed, thornbush your altars are beautiful - they must be a great inspiration to you and it's obvious a lot of care and love has gone into them. if you wouldn't mind sharing a bit more....on the side altar, i was wondering what the open text is? and about the photo (is that a photo?) above it?

Re: The Sacred Space
Oh the open text is a glazed clay piece containing the Heart Sutra in Chinese and the 'photo' is actually a cut out piece of Amitabha Buddha, from an old damaged picture card that I found on a free rack, so instead of letting it go to waste, I gingerly cut it out and stuck it as the central figure of the side altar.dumb bonbu wrote: if you wouldn't mind sharing a bit more....on the side altar, i was wondering what the open text is? and about the photo (is that a photo?) above it?
