Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to download a picture of Guru Rinpoche and also any stores (possibly specializing in Nyingma materials) that sells images of Guru Rinpoche, Yeshe Tsogyal, Jigme Lingpa, Nyingma Refuge Tree, etc............

Try doing a google image search for large images (you can select this on the left of the google image search page). I have found many good, printable images this way:

About the images you can find on the internet. Can anyone just download or do you have to have some kind of permission? I'm not really sure how that works.

The images you're talking about are perfectly fine for anyone to download. Also, re: the refuge tree, are you specifically looking for the Longchen Nyingthik tree? That's what you'll find most often at Tibetan Buddhist web stores in terms of Nyingma refuge trees. There is no universal Nyingma refuge tree since Nyingma is more like a collection of lineages stemming from the different transmissions from Guru Padmasambhava to his disciples and other transmissions occurring during the early translation period, rather than being one monolithic lineage. As such, each terma cycle has its own slightly different refuge tree. Not sure about kama refuge trees.

Are you mainly practicing a specific Nyingma lineage? If so, do you mind sharing which one?

Hi Pema Rigdzin, currently I am practicing with a Lama (Khentrul Rinpoche) from the Katog Lineage. Currently working on the Jamyang Khysentse Wangpo Ngondro.

You mean the concise Longchen Nyingthig one he wrote? If so, you'll have no trouble at all finding the LN refuge tree online, either as google images or thangkas.

Yep, the first poster of this thread provided a link to a good site that has two of the Longchen Nyingtik posters available for purchase (one that is darker characteristic of the Eastern Kham style and a lighter one characteristic of the Bhutanese style).

Is Guru Rinpoche sometimes depicted with toes or feet curled in? I have a picture of him with his foot out but it doesn't look like he has any toes or they might be curled up.

Sometimes artists depict his shoes as a kind that kinda turn up at the end. Could be either a Tibetan or maybe an Indian style of shoe he's supposed to be wearing. They kinda remind me of those Tibetan boots you sometimes see lamas wearing in footage in Tibet, or when the monks do the Cham ("lama dancing") where they have the different deity costumes on, etc.

Also, when you say you're studying with Khentrul Rinpoche, I assume you mean Khentrul Lodro Thaye?

Ah cool. I received some teachings from him a couple times in Ashland, OR. Got a very nice impression of him.

Yes, Guru Rinpoche typically wears boots. Although this style of boot (with up-turned toe) is worn/was worn in Tibet, they are commonly referred to as "Mongolian" style boots by Tibetans.

The leather curly turned-up-toes boots were historically worn by many other central Asian tribes & clans (now countries: the -stans + Mongolia), most of them sandwiched between current Russia & China/Afghanistan, from the Pacific coast all the way to the west of Black Sea in Europe where Scythians were defined in truly ancient times as the tribe wearing turned-up-toes boots. Scythians are believed by some historians to have originated from nomadic Central Asian tribes all of whom were superb riders/warriors/herders on the the vast steppes' grasslands (not suitable for farming) usually raiding other tribes or fellow tribal clans in Central Asia, till Stalin.
Dzogchen masters I know say: 1)Buddhist religion essence is Dzogchen 2)Religions are positive by intent/fruit 3)Any method's OK unless: breaking Dzogchen vows, mixed as syncretic (Milanese Soup) 4)Don't join mandalas of opponents of Dalai Lama/Padmasambhava: False Deity inventors by encouraging victims 5)Don't debate Ati with others 6)Don't discuss Ati practices online 7) A master told his old disciple: no one's to discuss his teaching with some others on a former forum nor mention him. Publicity's OK, questions are asked from masters/set teachers in person/email/non-public forums~Best wishes
