Advice needed

Post by Ngawang Drolma »

Hi my fellow vajrayana practitioners :) I just ordered a new ghau, and I'm going to fill it up. But I'd like some advice on what to put in it. The last one I had I used a piece of a cord that was blessed by an extremely high lama, some Chulen pills that had thousands of blessings, and some written mantras.

Any other ideas?

Best,
Laura

A beautiful little prayer written by you for genuine comfort

the sick ones, disabled ones, poor ones, beings helpless suffering in the darkness of afflictions.

relics of buddha or great masters; or their clothes.
'dharmakaya relics'= buddha's words would be also good.

In tantra, some mantras are said to be benefitial to wear on you, such as pratisara dharani.

other than these, anything blessful would be fine, such as mandala sand, blessed pills, small status... etc

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it :namaste:

Of course I'd put mantras in it but this gives me other ideas as well.

Maybe you should put some emptiness in it.

Hi Laura

I put my refuge string in mine, with the blessings of one of my teachers, and it feels good, "right" if that makes any sense.
Dualism is the real root of our suffering and all of our conflicts.

Sorry for sounding dumb, but how is a ghau most commonly used/worn? I haven't heard of these before and they sound like a wonderful item to have. And is there a particularly reliable seller that is worth checking out?
Thanks,
Lise
