Invocation of Samantabhadra

Post by DGA »

hi ho

regarding the "Invocation to Samantabhadra" that is published in Dzogchen Invocations, Shang Shung Edizioni: is this the same text that is also translated (different translation I assume) and published as "The Prayer of Kuntuzangpo" in Quintessential Dzogchen?

many thanks

I know that ChNNR is giving a retreat for this in LA next week. What is its purpose? How is it used/practiced?

It is an essential teaching on the basis, and how ignorance happens and what to do about it in the form of a beautiful aspiration. It comes from a long tantra from the Gongpa Zangthal cycle

From the text itself
Ah Ho!
Hereafter, whenever a powerful yogin
With his or her Awareness radiant and free from delusion Recites this very powerful prayer,
then all who hear it Will achieve enlightenment within three lifetimes.
During a solar or lunar eclipse, during an earthquake, or when the earth rumbles,
At the solstices or the new year you should visualize Kungtuzangpo.
And if you pray loudly so all can hear,
Then beings of the three realms will be gradually liberated from suffering,
Through the prayer of the yogin and will finally achieve enlightenment.

Enjoy and benefit! Hopefully I'll be there with you, albeit in Cape Town, via the webcast.

you become a powerful yogin.

ChNN explained this passage in different language. He translated it that if one is in a state of instant presence (rigpa), then those are the benefits. the powerful yogin is the one who is in instant presence.
