"A New Day:
This is the beginning of a new day.
I have been given this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is very important
because I'm exchanging a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes,
today will be gone forever,
leaving in its place whatever I have traded for it.

I pledge to myself that it shall be gain, not loss;
good, not evil; success, not failure.

In order that I shall not regret the price I paid for this day."

While we are struggling with good and bad, the cloud floats in simplicity through the sky.

If there is a left, there must be a right.
If there is a this there must be a that.
If there is an east, there must be a west.
If there is a far there must be a near.
If there...

Knowing nature already is before mind, no mind makes limitations.

put another way...
no left, no right. know left, know right.
no coming, no going. know coming, know going.
no giving, no taking. know giving, know taking.
no gain, no loss. know gain, know loss.
no knowledge, no ignorance. know knowledge, know ignorance.
etc etc.

but i find that knowing this, that if there is a left there is a right, is profound, but in order to be natural, we still act out of natural impulses and dont get bogged down in trying to understand, predict or direct our actions. to be uncontrived is i think more important than to guide ones whole life through understanding, which i think would miss the point of life, which is in some way naturally 'messy'/chaotic and unpredictable. what my art teacher calls Wabi-Sabi.

with best wishes, from White Lotus.

People often wonder how to reconcile the Buddha's teachings on non-attachment with those on love. How can we love others without being attached to them? Non-attachment is a balanced state of mind in which we cease overestimating others' qualities. By having a more accurate view of others, our unrealistic expectations fall away, as does our clinging. This leaves us open to loving others for who they are, instead of for what they do for us. Our hearts can open to care for everyone impartially, wishing everyone to be happy simply because he or she is a living being. The feeling of warmth that was previously reserved for a select few can now be expanded to a great number of people.

One can talk about impermanence, about dependency and clap ones' hands for a school of white rabbits appearing out of a hat.

The illusion of the daily magical display.

"In so far as we really orient ourselves towards the pursuit of genuine happiness and enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings – reality rises up to meet us – we meet just the people we need to meet, we find the book, we find the companion, we find the place, we find the sustenance, we find the environment – everything that is needed moment to moment, decade to decade – it isn’t luck - it is a pattern, it is not random, there is something going on here….

In so far as our fundamental yearning that all sentient beings find genuine happiness and be free of suffering is rooted in reality not toward these illusory phantoms of hedonic pleasures, but toward the actual freedom itself and not simply the anesthetic - our reality rises up to meet us.
When we are being real, reality corresponds.

Try the biggest experiment that a human being can perform -take this as a hypothesis, like a cloak, try it on. Then watch…. See on those occasions when your motivation is realistic when your motivation is true….see whether reality rises up to meet you….

See -I am not alone, those who have become absolutely real - they are assisting me, they are rising up to meet me. " Alan Wallace.
