Can you take the tradition of Japanese Zen and "import" it into American culture? . .

Dogen's biography is listed in the online Wikipedia. Here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogen That 'tradition' or 'technique/style' would just be taught with an "American" flavor.
