Live 2012 Solar Eclipse Pictures

There are several sites giving live pictures, this one looks valuable. It will start using its remote telescopes at about 2:30pm Pacific time, with the first looks from Japan. This Sunday, 20 May annular eclipse will end about 7:30 Pacific time.

The moon is now ceasing its partial (about 85% in So. Cal.) occultation of the Sun. The temperature seemed to drop 10 or 15 degrees, the shadows of tree leaves cast miniature crescent moon/sun images. In short a good time was had by all.

See you for the Venus transit of the Sun (very rare) June 5 or 6, depending.

Too bad you did not use the slooh website. Their speciality is using remote telescopes all over the planet so that weather is rarely a problem. The Venus transit will be broadcast for free, no need to pay to join, so one can use their images.
