Siddhas of Ga

Siddhas of Ga, Remembered by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche is a remarkable addition to the growing corpus of Buddhist siddha/namthar stories available in English. These are stories, mostly short paragraphs, told by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche to Lama Karma Drodhul. Lama Drodhul had been prompted by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche to ask Khenpo Karthar about these stories.

These are stories of siddhas that Khenpo Karthar personally knew in the Ga region of Kham. Although two of the stories are of well-known people (Khenpo Gangshar and Mipham Rinpoche) most of these siddhas appeared as completely ordinary people and were not recognized as remarkable until their deaths.

Some of these stories are tantric in the extreme and a bit difficult to take. Let's just say that the five meats and the five nectars play a significant role in several of the stories. Various forms of crazy wisdom were recorded.

The book is a short read composed of some 33 stories followed by a brief exposition by Lama Drodhul which I have not yet read. This is followed by the original (presumably modern) Tibetan.
