How do the bodhisattva grounds relate to the tantric path?

As Tantra often involves vows and samaya related to secret practice, this sub-forum has been created where Vajrayana practitioners can pose questions, and any of our members or staff can reply confidentially by PM.

How do the bodhisattva grounds relate to the tantric path?

Post by prsvrnc »

Hi, I would like to know more about the relationship between the bodhisattva grounds and the six tantric vehicles and/or generation and completion stages of tantra. For example, I think it's when one has attained the pure illusory body (as opposed to the impure illusory body which comes prior) that one has successfully liberated themselves from samsara. Does this mean that a bodhisattva, on, say, the 4th bodhisattva ground who manages to attain the pure illusory body, would simply "skip" or catch up on the remaining two grounds to the 7th, since it is at the end of the 7th that one is liberated from samsara? Does this question make sense? Any information, in particular, cited SOURCES, is appreciated. Thank you.
