I once saw a centipede leave suddenly from under my bed
Hiding itself beneath my shoe
I thought to myself
"it is a symbol of aversion"
And viewed it as auspicious, a sign of having purged aversion
Capturing it, I let it into the wild to be free

Later I saw a centipede leave suddenly from a pile of clothes
Hiding itself under my bed
I thought to myself
"this, too, was once my mother, is now a deluded being, and will someday be a living buddha"
Thinking this I welcomed its presence beneath my bed
May it have refuge therein

I dont like centipedes, but if possible I will save them.

I have a box to catch bugs and put them out side. Sometimes I will catch a centipede, sometimes a spider...

' A centipede was happy quite
Until a toad in fun
Said ' pray, which leg goes after which ? '
Which worked his mind to such a pitch
He laid distracted in a ditch
Considering how to run.'
