Geshe Sonam Ngodrup will lead a retrat and give several courses in Loenen.

Green Tara Retreat (August 13-20)
Green Tara Initiation (Jenang on August 14)

Tara represents the wisdom and compassion of all the enlightened beings in a female form. Meditating on Tara is a very powerful way to identify and connect with our own inner potential for wisdom and compassion. By practicing Tara meditation you can eliminate inner and outer obstacles to the development of your mind, create much merit, and achieve quick success in attaining enlightenment. Geshe Sonam Ngodrup will lead this week long retreat on the meditation practice of Green Tara, combined with teachings and instructions. Geshe la will give the Mahayana precepts on the first day.

The retreat is open for anyone who has at least received a Jenang of Green Tara. The sadhana we will use, has a self generation meditation. Participants who ONLY received the Jenang, can participate based on doing the front generation meditation. The retreat will be partly in silence.

The accumulated mantras of all participants will be added and combined at the end of the retreat, and offered for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Wednesday August 13 at 8.00 p.m. to Wednesday August 20 at 5 p.m.
To help cover our costs: €350,- including vegetarian meals, accommodation, bed-linen and a towel.
Depending on the room, you may need to pay an extra room-charge.
Please register at least 3 days before the course starts, see Registration and Course Fees for details.
Wednesday evening we serve soup and bread at 6:30 p.m. (€ 4,-).
Students are expected to do some 'karma yoga', meaning to help with some household work during the course as part of our spiritual practice to help each other, and so we can keep the courses affordable.

This retreat includes Green Tara Jenang and Mahayana Precepts. However, these can also be taken separately, see below:
Green Tara Initiation (Jenang)

The one-week retreat will start with Geshe Sonam Ngodrup bestowing the Green Tara Jenang. However, the Jenang can be taken on its own without participating in the subsequent retreat. Students who have received this Jenang earlier from Geshela will benefit from receiving it again. As part of the ritual one will receive engaging Bodhisattva vows. The minimum requirement to participate is having formally taken refuge earlier, and having sincere respect for the Lama.
Thursday August 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Suggested donation: € 40,- including lunch
Mahayana Precepts

Dharma students who are not joining the Green Tara retreat are welcome to participate in the ritual of receiving the Mahayana Precepts for One Day. After having received these from a Lama for the first time, one can then take these Precepts whenever one wants. This adds a powerful method to our Dharma toolbox by which means we can quickly gain merits.
Friday August 15, 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. - note this is very early, before dawn!
By donation.
A room for the previous night may be booked separately.
