His Holiness Sakya Trizin Visits New York City
July 1-4, 2011

The Vikramasila Foundation and the Palden Sakya Centers are pleased to announce that His Holiness Sakya Trizin will bless the New York City community with a two-day White Tara Initiation, teachings and instructions over the Independence Day weekend. We are honored to host this rare dharma event. This is His Holiness’ first visit to New York in seven years.

His Holiness is one of the most important spiritual masters and leaders of Tibetan Buddhism of our time, and is the 41st in a lineage of spiritual masters that began in 1,073. Second to His Holiness Dalai Lama in spiritual protocol in Tibetan communities around the globe, His Holiness Sakya Trizin is a direct descendant of the Khon family that began with Khon Lui Wangpo Sungwa in the 8th century.
Our four-day event will include His Holiness’s presence as the keynote speaker at a panel discussion on the use of Tibetan Medicine as an alternative healing modality, and will conclude with a special tribute to His Holiness, where long-life prayers will be offered, followed by a special reception.
